Highlights of the 11th AGM

The 11th NCSL Annual General Meeting brought together members and employer representatives from both corporate and government sectors, reflecting the strength and continued growth of the Society.

The AGM provided members with important updates on NCSL’s financial performance, governance, services, and future direction. Through the interactive Q&A session, members and employers also had the opportunity to engage directly with the NCSL Board of Directors and Management.

Senior Internal Auditor

NCSL, the largest Savings and Loan Society in PNG with over 170,000 members, is currently undergoing an exciting transformative journey to further enhance the service to members and to be ready for the future.

We are currently seeking a Senior Internal Auditor based at our Head Office in Port Moresby and reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance.  The successful candidate will provide independent assurance and advisory services to the Board Audit & Risk Committee and Executive Management.

Senior Internal Auditor

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessments approved by the Board Audit & Risk Committee,
  • Establish the Internal Audit (IA) Charter including Terms of Reference TOR’s and play a critical role in strengthening governance, risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance across the organisation,
  • Conduct operational, financial, compliance, and risk-based audits across the organisation,
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management frameworks,
  • Review compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, prudential standards, and internal procedures,
  • Present audit findings and updates directly to the Board Audit & Risk Committee and action recommendations,
  • Liaise with external auditors (PWC), regulators (BPNG), and other assurance providers where required,
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, compliance, and ethical conduct within the organisation.

Essential Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business Management, Commerce, Economics or related field,
  • Must be CPA certified or in the process of obtaining a certificate,
  • More than five (5) years’ experience in internal or external audit preferably within the Financial Services Sector,
  • Demonstrated Management/Board exposure in managing internal audit function and reporting,
  • Sound understanding of financial services operations, including credit, treasury, operations, AML/CFT, and regulatory compliance,
  • Strong analytical skill and accurate business judgement,

We are currently seeking a Customer Service Consultant, based at our Alotau Branch and reporting to the Lead Customer Service Consultant.

The successful applicant will be required too effectively.

 

  • Assist the supervisor to acquire, foster and maintain professional business relationships with key employers and business stakeholders in the branch catchment area,
  • Coordinate new member registration, KYC verification and account activation processes,
  • Support Branch sales and product promotions, and coordinate awareness drives and mini campaigns in the branch catchment area,
  • Undertake initiatives to enhance service efficiency, digital adoption and member convenience,
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.

 

Essential Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience:

 

  • Proven exposure in providing first-class customer service in a timely manner in a similar work environment,
  • Diploma Qualification in Sales and Marketing, Business Management, Banking & Finance, Accounting or related field,
  • Strong customer experience and ability to interact and cooperate with all staff and maintain professionalism that meets company core values.

We now seek to recruit a Senior Member of the HR Team, reporting to the Head of Human Resources to further strengthen our Team and be part of this exciting transformation.

The successful applicant will be required to effectively;

  • Research and provide HR solutions in the market and manage implementation of key HR projects,
  • Lead and provide overall advice on both strategic and operational HR support in managing an employee’s life cycle,
  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle in closer consultation with the line managers and ensuring positions are filled within agreed schedule,
  • Assist the Head of HR with HR Budget preparations and its implementation,
  • Manage the end-to-end performance management cycle and instill a performance culture with appropriate rewards,
  • Provide oversight of the Training and Development function and provide timely reports to relevant stakeholders,
  • Review and draft HR policies and procedures where required and ensure updates are shared and understood by staff,
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.

Essential Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Proven exposure in managing a team to provide HR advice and support in managing an employee life cycle,
  • Possess more than five (5) years of proven exposure in managing a team to provide both strategic and operational support within HR,
  • Exposure in managing performance cycle to derive TNA’s and ensure needs are addressed in consultation with respective supervisors,
  • Demonstrated exposure in providing oversight of Learning and Development initiatives and building a learning culture,
  • Degree Qualification in Business Management, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.
  • Strong people skills and ability to lead from the front in all HR responsibilities and tasks,
  • Strong customer experience and ability to interact and cooperate with all staff and maintain professionalism that meets company core values.
