Reconciliation Officer

NCSL, the largest Savings and Loan Society in PNG with over 170,000 members, is currently undergoing an exciting transformation to enhance services and prepare for the future.

We are seeking a Reconciliation Officer based at our Head Office in Port Moresby, reporting to the Management Accountant. The successful candidate will handle general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and perform corrective adjustments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations
  • Investigate variances, trace unidentified deposits, clear suspense accounts, and recommend corrective journal entries
  • Cross-check general ledger records against bank statements, cash books, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)
  • Assist the Management Accountant with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing tasks
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for internal and external audits
  • Promote a culture of accountability, compliance, and ethical conduct
Job Requirements

Essential Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field
  • Progress toward professional accounting certification (e.g., CPA) is highly desirable
  • 2–3 years of experience in general ledger accounting, bookkeeping, or financial reconciliation
  • Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Pronto Xi, Technology One, MYOB, etc.)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, complex formulas)
  • Strong analytical ability and sound business judgment

Business Relationship Officer

NCSL Savings and Loan Society, the largest Savings and Loan Society in PNG with over 170,000 members, is undergoing a significant transformation to enhance member service delivery and position the organization for sustainable future growth.

We are seeking a high- performing and result- driven Business Relationship Officer to join our team in Lae, reporting to the Business Relationship Manager. The incumbent will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with employer partners to support business continuity, portfolio growth, and member engagement, while ensuring compliance with NCSL governance frameworks, policies, and statutory requirements.

Business Relationship Officer – Lae

The successful applicant will be required too effectively.

Develop and maintain strong employer and stakeholder relationships,
Serve as the primary liaison between employers and NCSL,
Drive engagement through visits, presentations and awareness sessions,
Identify new business opportunities and support portfolio growth,
Promote and cross-sell NCSL products and services,
Ensure timely remittance contributions and high service delivery standard,
Prepare reports, engagement plan and activity updates,
Ensure compliance with policies, procedure and audit requirements,
Provide, in collaboration with employers, financial literacy sessions to educate members about savings, loans and other financial services.

Essential Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience:

Diploma in Business, Banking & Finance, Marketing or related discipline,
Minimum 3 years’ experience in financial services or similar role,
Strong communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills,
Possess current driver’s license (class 3 or 6), and be able to navigate within the surrounds of Lae,
Intermediate MS Office skills.

Senior Internal Auditor

We are currently seeking a Senior Internal Auditor based at our Head Office in Port Moresby and reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance.  The successful candidate will provide independent assurance and advisory services to the Board Audit & Risk Committee and Executive Management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the annual internal audit plan based on risk assessments approved by the Board Audit & Risk Committee,
  • Establish the Internal Audit (IA) Charter including Terms of Reference TOR’s and play a critical role in strengthening governance, risk management, internal controls, and regulatory compliance across the organisation,
  • Conduct operational, financial, compliance, and risk-based audits across the organisation,
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, governance processes, and risk management frameworks,
  • Review compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, prudential standards, and internal procedures,
  • Present audit findings and updates directly to the Board Audit & Risk Committee and action recommendations,
  • Liaise with external auditors (PWC), regulators (BPNG), and other assurance providers where required,
  • Promote a strong culture of accountability, compliance, and ethical conduct within the organisation.

Essential Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Accounting, Business Management, Commerce, Economics or related field,
  • Must be CPA certified or in the process of obtaining a certificate,
  • More than five (5) years’ experience in internal or external audit preferably within the Financial Services Sector,
  • Demonstrated Management/Board exposure in managing internal audit function and reporting,
  • Sound understanding of financial services operations, including credit, treasury, operations, AML/CFT, and regulatory compliance,
  • Strong analytical skill and accurate business judgement,
