Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

NCSL, the largest Savings and Loan Society in PNG with over 150,000 members, is currently undergoing an exciting transformative journey to further enhance its service to members and to be ready for the future.

We now seek to recruit a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to further strengthen our Executive Leadership Team. The CFO is responsible for leading, directing and managing the Finance Business Unit and ensuring that the highest quality of services is delivered to internal and external stakeholders in line with NCSL’s overarching vision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop & execute strategies that promote the company’s competitive edge in a fast growing & dynamic financial services industry,
• Recommend and maximize investment opportunities and ensure strict control of expenditure within approved budget levels,
• Monitor and ensure monthly balance sheet and profit & loss statement demonstrating accurate financial position of the Society,
• Monitor and ensure all Financial Reports are provided as scheduled and reports readily available for management and Board reporting,
• Ensure annual accounts are prepared and completed at any financial year-end in preparation for annual external audit,
• Maintain compliance with BPNG requirements and maintain relationships with commercial banks, internal and external auditors and other stakeholders,
• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and perform financial analysis, as required,
• Undertake other duties as directed by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and subsequent directions from the NCSL Board

Essential Qualifications, Technical Skills & Experience:

• Tertiary Qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or related field,
• Master’s qualifications are an advantage,
• CPA PNG certified,
• 7+ years’ experience in a CFO role or related position in the financial services or related sector,
• Proven experience in Strategy formulation and implementation,
• Experienced leading high-performance teams for success,
• Proven experience observing integrity and compliance to perform your role,
• Effective communicator, able to make sound economic decisions,
• Possess a current police clearance certificate obtained in the past six (6) months
