NCSL, the largest Savings and Loan Society in PNG with over 152,000 members, is currently undergoing an exciting transformative journey to further enhance the service to members and to be ready for the future.
We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Risk Analyst, based at our Head Office to assess creditworthiness, monitor portfolio risk, and contribute to sound financial decisions that drive growth while managing risk.
• Evaluate credit data and financial statements to assess the risk of lending to individuals and businesses
• Develop, monitor, and maintain credit risk models and scorecards
• Identify, measure, and report on credit risk exposure across portfolios
• Recommend credit limits and risk mitigation strategies
• Work closely with lending, finance, and compliance teams to ensure sound credit practices
• Prepare risk analysis reports and present findings to management
• Conduct compliance & credit risk assessments by regularly reviewing the organisation’s internal credit
risk controls and proactively addressing any policy and procedural gaps,
• Maintaining regular update of NCSL’s Credit Risk Register and the Policies & Procedures Manual (PPM),
Degree Qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Economics, Business Management or related field,
• Proven experience in credit risk analysis, underwriting, or portfolio management,
• Strong knowledge of credit risk principles and financial analysis,
• Proficient in Excel and risk modeling tools; knowledge of SQL, Python or SAS is a plus,
• Analytical thinker with excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders
